About Balance Level
Welcome to Balance Level — a practical, beginner-friendly space for diabetes recipes, diabetes education, and everyday lifestyle habits that support better choices, one meal at a time.
My name is Masoud, and I created Balance Level for anyone trying to eat well with diabetes (or simply eat in a more blood-sugar-friendly way) without giving up flavor, comfort, or real life.
My Story (Why I Started Balance Level)
My journey began when two close friends were diagnosed with diabetes.
One took it seriously—cleaned up his diet, became more consistent with movement, and worked closely with his healthcare team. Over time, his numbers improved and his daily habits transformed.
The other friend was more neglectful, brushing off the warning signs and postponing meaningful change.
Watching both paths unfold was a wake-up call. It pushed me to learn everything I could about nutrition, sustainable habits, and practical ways to build meals that feel satisfying—not restrictive.
Today, as a nutrition expert with personal experience with diabetes, I share what I’ve learned in a way that’s realistic, encouraging, and usable in everyday life.
What You’ll Find Here
At Balance Level, you’ll find content designed for everyone—especially beginners and nutrition enthusiasts—including:
- Diabetes-friendly recipes (simple, approachable, and family-approved)
- Diabetes education (explained clearly, without overwhelm)
- Lifestyle support (habits, routines, grocery tips, and mindset)
Whether you’re managing Type 1, Type 2, prediabetes, gestational diabetes, or you’re cooking for someone who is—my goal is to help you feel more confident in the kitchen and more supported on your journey.
My Approach to Diabetes-Friendly Cooking
I focus on recipes and meal ideas that support balanced eating—often looking at things like:
- Carbohydrates
- Calories
- Fiber
I aim to create meals that make sense for real people: satisfying portions, smart ingredient swaps when helpful, and a steady focus on consistency over perfection.
Note: I don’t currently provide full nutrition labels on every recipe, so if you track carbs or specific macros, you may want to calculate values using your preferred nutrition calculator or app—and confirm targets with your clinician.
